There is a fact that should be an eye-opener to all dispensationalists, if they would only stop to consider it, and that is: GOD NEVER CHOSE ISRAEL ON THE BASIS OF EITHER RACE OR BLOOD. Nowhere in the Bible does one find a single, solitary passage of Scripture which states otherwise. God chose to make Israel a NATION through COVENANT with them, and this to be regardless of the mixed up blood strains that were so evident all the way through their history. Solomon’s wives and children are only a small example of this. The Idumeans are an example of this. The many times the Israelites took Gentile wives to themselves is an example of this. Gentile people were allowed to become part of the nation of Israel (through circumcision). Many examples are seen in the Bible as to this mixing of the blood line. But God made a covenant (at Sinai) with these people, that out of them might come the true SEED of Abraham (Christ. Gal 3:16). And at least a remnant of believing Israelites who were true Israel. His covenant to that nation was conditional, based upon their obedience and faithfulness (which as a whole they failed in). But there was always a true line of SPIRITUAL Israel who were true to God and inherited the SPIRITUAL promises of God. They were the true spiritual seed of Abraham. “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Gal. 3:29). Being a Jew or a Gentile either made no difference in this relationship. “There is neither Jew nor Greek… for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 3:29).
And the promise was made to Abraham in the very beginning. “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the GOSPEL unto Abraham, saying, in thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed.” (Gal. 3:8). This promise was given in Genesis 12:3. It had nothing to do with Israel AS a NATION, except that through this NATION would come the true SEED (which was Christ, Gal. 3:16) whose followers would all be classified as the true seed of Abraham (Gal. 3:29). And whether in the Old Testament or the New Testament or later, all those of faith were counted as the seed of Abraham, though it took New Testament days to make all this comprehensible to those who followed Christ. The New Testament explained those promises. But the NATION of Israel itself was destroyed in A.D. 70 as old covenant passed away, and no more was that covenant to be a burden upon God’s people. There is no prediction anywhere in the New Testament that the nation of Israel is ever to be restored. Therefore, any so-called “nation” of Israel today is a product of man’s ingenuity, politics, and war and not existent because of any fulfillment of prophecy. And neither has God promised that there will be a RACE of Jews in existence in our future.
